Milan was our next great adventure. I went with a group of 9 others (6 girls and 4 guys total) to Milan for the weekend. We left PdG at 5:20 on the bus to Bassano to catch a train. Using the self-ticket machines we bought tickets to Milano. We were all stoked when the tickets were only 15 euro, but that should have been a red flag because when we went to change trains in Padova, we were told that we were on the wrong train and had to pay an additional 22 euro to avoid getting kicked off the train. Luckily that was our only hiccup in making it to Milan. But there were a few more to come. We get there and the only way to our hostel is a taxi, and then we quickly realize that our hostel is no where near the sights. When we finally arrive at the hostel, the receptionist does not speak much English and claims that we do not have a reservation at the hotel. After calling in reinforcements, the receptionist finally found our reservation and we headed off to our rooms.We changed clothes and headed out to this club called LimeLight. The club was really fun, they played mainly American music and we danced the night away.

Because of the lack of major sights in Milan we were extremely slow getting ready the next morning. Jamie and I finally dragged the boys off to get lunch around 1:30 and the rest of the girls met up with us when we finished eating. Then we headed towards the city center. First stop was the castle, we wandered around inside then on the opposite side that we entered there was a park that had a carnival. Of course, the 10 college students had to check out the rides at a carnival filled with kids. Charlie, Jon, Jamie and I rode this ride that swung back and forth and spun at the same time. I have never heard boys scream so much. I could barely breath through the whole ride because I was laughing so much!

After the castle, we found the Duomo, which is a very gorgeous church, and the worlds first shopping mall. We wandered around the area for awhile, checked out the sights and did a little shopping. The boys all bought new shirts because the night before they had been told to dress nicer. Finally, we headed back to the hotel to rest and shower for the night. Only 8 of us ended up going out to the club Alcatraz. There were girls dancing in cages and they played rock music all night. It was not what we were expecting but it ended up being such a fun night. At one point they played Surfing USA and Barbara Ann by the Beach boys, we had SOOO much fun singing along to those songs!

Sunday we got up, checked out of our hotels and head to the soccer stadium. The way to the stadium was not as simple as the hotel receptionist made it seem but eventually we found our way. AC Milan was playing Atalanta. David Beckham is now playing for Milan. I still am not a huge fan of soccer so the highlight of the entire match was after Milan won Beckham took his shirt off, threw it into the crowd and walked all the way off the field shirtless, definitely made the game worthwhile.

Rome is this weekend, and we leave tomorrow to fly there! It should be another amazing weekend!
